Cultivate a ‘Summer Hobby’

I’ve become a big believer in seasonal hobbies, especially in the summer time. It’s a nice way to mark the beginning of summer. Summer, at least here in the U.S., can feel somewhat underwhelming for adults. Sure, we take vacations and get outside more, but we still continue with our workweek - we don’t get the big bookend that is the end of the school year like kids do.

I like having a hobby that I pick up once the weather gets warmer and the days get longer. I enjoy making friendship bracelets in the summertime- they’ve always felt summery to me and they’re a nice hobby you can take with you and kind of work on mindlessly. Once we get back from family camp and school’s about to start, I tuck the supplies away again until next year.
