
Another MVP of a sauce; great on grilled chicken, as a dip or spread, or eaten with a spoon. Great addition to a potluck/party and will disappear in a flash. Feel free to make as per the recipe, but if I may make a suggestion? My lazy-ish subs make it faster and just as good:
- Sub 1/2 almond butter for the toasted slivered almonds. You're grinding them up anyway!
- Bump up the garlic, up to 3 cloves worth
- Add 1/2 shallot or 1/4 red onion if ya got it
- I don't always have tomato puree on hand, and tomato paste works just fine, maybe even better for the concentrated flavor?
- Reduce EVOO to a glug or two to taste since the almond butter will make it looser. You can always drizzle more on/in later
